AFTERCARE
Proper aftercare is crucial to ensure you get the best healed results! A cosmetic tattoo is an investment, so to make sure you get the best results possible please follow the instructions below, and if you have any questions please contact me!
HEALING PROCESS
Immediately after the procedure there may be redness, tenderness and swelling in the area, these are normal symptoms of healing and will go away as the brows heal. In the first few days following the procedure the brows/freckles typically appear darker and bolder. As they heal the colour will fade 30%-50% and they will shrink by about 10%. Within 3-7 days the brows/freckles will start to dry out and flake off, it is important not to pick or rub the brows and cause premature flaking, as this can affect pigment retention. Once the brows/freckles have fully flaked off the pigment beneath can appear very light and in some cases, nearly invisible, but as the brows continue to heal the colour will settle. Final results cannot be determined until brows/freckles are fully healed at 4-6 weeks. It is extremely important to follow all aftercare instructions to ensure best results!
AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
For the first 2-5 days following the procedure you will be washing & moisturizing your brows/freckles regularly! On the very first day you want to wash/moisturize the brows 1-2 hours after the procedure and then again before you go to bed that night. You will then wash/moisturize 3 times a day for the first 2-5 days. You can stop washing either when you start to see some flaking (it can look like dry skin) or if you do not see flaking you can stop washing by the end of day 5. You can continue applying the moisturizer 1-2 times a day until the brows have finished flaking, which is usually around day 10-14.

How to wash & moisturize the brows:
* A cleanser & ointment will be supplied at your appointment
-
Always wash your hands before touching your brows/freckles! (You want to think of your brows as an open wound)
-
To wash the brows apply a little bit of cleanser and a little bit of water using your fingertips (similar to if you were using a facial cleanser) and and rub the brows for 10 seconds in a circular motion, you want to use a similar pressure to if you were washing off make up!
-
Rinse the brows with lukewarm water, avoid using hot water!
-
Pat the brows dry with a clean tissue.
-
To moisturize the brows, dab on a rice grain size of ointment per brow, remember less is more with the ointment - you want a very thin layer.

Some helpful tips:
-
The brows/freckles can get a little wet, but when showering avoid directly wetting the brows (don't put your face directly in the stream of water), it is recommended to wash the body first and hair last facing away from the shower stream
-
Change your pillow case the day of the appointment to ensure if you accidentally roll onto the brows while you sleep they will stay as clean as possible
-
If you have one, using a satin pillow case can help ensure your brows don't rub if you roll onto your face while sleeping

THINGS TO AVOID WHILE HEALING!
During the healing process (first 10-14 days), it is important to avoid the following:

-
Direct sun exposure and tanning beds
-
Make up and skin care products near the brows
-
Excessive moisture (long shower, saunas, sweating, swimming, etc)
-
Sleeping on your face/brows
-
Using Vasoline or Polysporin on or near the brows
-
Any skin products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, AHA, retinol, etc). You can continue use on the lower half of your face, just not in the forehead area.
-
Tinting the brows (this should be done prior to the appointment)
-
DO NOT SCRATCH the brows, this can greatly affect final results and pigment retention
